Modified atmosphere packaging of meat and poultry products is meant to prolong product shelf-life while keep the product at fresh condition without freezing storage. MAP packaging remove and replace the air inside the package with a modified atmosphere, which is often a blend of different purified gases, including oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen. Please be cautious that for different meat and poultry products, the mixing ratio of purified gases that compose the modified atmosphere is different. It’s highly recommend to make a series of experiments to test the effect of different mixing ratio to meat and poultry shelf-life and quality.
