What is commercial meat grinder
Commercial meat grinder is a series of machines to force all kinds of meat (including fresh meat, thawed meat, tempered meat, light frozen meat, deep frozen meat) into coarse and fine grindings. Meat grinder uses a powerful feeding worm (auger) to feed the meat to the cutting system that consists of rotating grinder knives and stationary perforated grinding plates. The rotating feeding auger pushes meat and meat trimmings through the cutting system, cut the meat by the revolving grinding knives and extrudes the meat through the holes in the grinding plates. There are different options for hole size of the grinding plate, which produces meat with different fineness.

Meat grinding is a preprocessing procedure for making of food products like sausages, patties, bacons, burgers, salami, meatballs, and other ground meat products. Meat grinders are designed for fast and easy mincing of fresh / frozen meat and boned meat, including chewy meat like lamb, pork, buffalo or beef or soft like chicken, duck or rabbit. The machine is also suitable for grinding of vegetables and fruits.

Commercial meat grinder components
The main structure of the meat grinder consists of feeding system, transmission system and grinding system.
- The feeding system consists of hopper, auger and barrel. For heavy-duty meat grinders, like FJR250, FJR300, an elevator usually is used to convey meat blocks into the machine
- The transmission system consists of a frame, a motor and a reducer. There is a non-return bearing on the screw shaft, which bears the strong reaction force generated by the feeding screw and the extrusion screw during the feeding, extrusion and cutting process.
- The grinding system consists of an grinding plate and grinding knives. The tool and the feed screw rotate synchronously. The grinding plate has some small holes of the same diameter. The orifice plate is attached to the cross reamer for easy assembly and disassembly.

Maintenance of commercial meat grinders
- After the completion of each shift, the surface and forehearth of the meat grinder should be cleaned in time to prevent the growth of bacteria. It is best to add a few drops of cooking oil to the rotating friction part for the next use.
- The lubricating oil of the reducer needs to be replaced regularly. Observe the oil level in time and refuel in time, so that the oil level is not lower than the center line of the oil mark. Change the lubricating oil every six months or so.
- If it is found that the power of the machine drops or loses rotation, the back cover should be opened in time to adjust the tightness of the transmission belt. Under normal circumstances, after the meat grinder has been working for one year, the reducer should be disassembled to check the rolling bearings, clean and refuel.
- After a period of use, the grinding knives and grinding plate should be reground or replaced in time.
- Never drop metal foreign objects into the hopper to prevent damage to the grinding knives and plate
